Inclusion
through technology

Disability Tech brings together stakeholders and develops digital solutions that improve the quality of life for people with disabilities.

From Nordic ambition to concrete action

In 2026, Disability Tech will bring together stakeholders from across the Nordic and Baltic regions as part of the initiative ‘A Nordic Pathway to Inclusive, Fair and Accessible AI’. Through workshops, knowledge-sharing and collaboration, we will explore how AI can be developed and used in a more inclusive, fair and accessible way – and translate these insights into concrete recommendations.

The project will culminate on 2 November at the Nordic Disability Tech Summit 2026 in Copenhagen, where people with disabilities, organisations, public authorities, researchers and technology stakeholders will come together to share knowledge and set the direction for future work.

An alliance for the future

Disability Tech is an ambitious alliance focused on harnessing AI and new digital solutions to benefit people with disabilities. We are working to ensure that the technology is user-friendly, accessible and ethically sound. The project was launched following a conference on AI and social innovation in February 2024.

We are building on these discussions to address the barriers that people with disabilities face in relation to technological developments.

Four approaches to a comprehensive solution

Target

We put people with disabilities at the centre of our work and ensure that they play an active role in shaping digital solutions that meet their needs.

Innovation

Through collaboration with start-ups and tech companies, we develop innovative solutions that promote inclusion and participation.

Policy

We are working to improve the policy framework to support the development and implementation of new digital solutions.

Science

We are building the knowledge base through studies, best practices and knowledge reviews in order to create sustainable solutions.

The solutions of the future require shared knowledge

Disability Tech focuses on influencing the framework for developing and implementing digital solutions that enhance inclusion, quality of life and opportunities for participation for people with disabilities.

These reports represent the first steps towards building a shared knowledge base to inform the work towards this vision. The field of disability tech is only just beginning to develop in Denmark, but holds great potential for improving quality of life and opportunities for participation. To realise this potential, cross-sector collaboration and an understanding of the challenges and solutions are crucial.

Technological success stories

See how inclusive technology is making a difference to people with disabilities. From AI-powered assistive technologies to digital inclusion – we’re sharing the most inspiring success stories.

Alf, en ung dreng, der sidder foran sin computer og spiller computerspil

When I’m gaming, I can do anything

Alf is 11 years old and has a body that often seems to have a mind of its own. He knows all too well what it’s like to be physically limited, but when he plays video games – using the right eye-tracking technology – he can do anything

Britt, en ung kvinde med kort hår og briller

Living independently in one’s own home

The Handi5 SW digital calendar was a lifesaver for Britt. Previously, she would often break down, overwhelmed by the daily tasks that were piling up. With the help of this technology, Britt can now keep track of her day.

Rasmus, en ung mand i kørestol

Technology has enabled me to get a job

Employers didn’t give Rasmus a chance. It was only when he set up his own production company, We Are Wonder, that his career really took off. With the right technology, Rasmus can make even the most unlikely things happen.

Together we can make a difference

Disability Tech brings together stakeholders from civil society, the public sector and the private sector in a unique collaboration to promote technological inclusion.
